Adoration of the Magi
By tradition, the Magi or ‘wise men’ have become kings. Here they appear in courtly dress of the 15th century to pay homage to the King of Kings. The Christ child is shown naked to emphasise the vulnerability of God in human form. Jesus extends a hand of welcome to his royal visitors.
