Dedication of a Church
The illuminated letter ‘O’ shows a dedication service with its procession around the church. This service was only newly authorised in the Diocese of Norwich when the antiphoner was written. From this, we can conclude that Ranworth Church was right up to date in having the feast included in the antiphoner. Notice the procession has a bishop with a mitre and a group of tonsured monks.
